Trim videos in your browser
Find the exact frames, cut, and save: losslessly in seconds, or frame-exactly. MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV. Your video never leaves your device.
Works in a recent Chrome or Edge, on a computer or an Android phone.
Cut it right, the first time
Phone clips, screen recordings, lectures, game captures: take off the start and the end, and keep what matters.
Every frame
Step frame by frame, jump between key frames, and see the exact first and last frame of your cut before you save.
Lossless in seconds
Copy the video without re-encoding it: full quality, and a long recording is done before you notice.
Or frame-exact
Need it to start on precisely that frame? Re-encode just the part you keep, with your computer's own video encoder.
Big files welcome
The video is read where it is, a little at a time: an hour-long 4K recording opens as quickly as a short clip.
On your phone too
Drag the handles with a finger, pinch the timeline to zoom, and save the clip straight to your phone.
Private by design
No upload, no account, no tracking. Framewave works offline once it has loaded.
How it works
Open your video
Drop it on the page or pick it. It stays where it is; nothing is copied or uploaded.
Set the start and end
Drag the handles, press I and O, or type the times. Play the result to check it.
Export
Lossless or exact: Framewave picks the right one and says what it will do. The file saves to your device.

Questions
Is Framewave free?
Yes. Framewave is free to use, with no account and no sign-up.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Framewave runs entirely in your browser. It reads your video where it is on your device and writes the trimmed file to your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
What is the difference between lossless and exact?
Lossless copies the video without re-encoding it: full quality, done in seconds. A video can only start decoding at a key frame, so the copy also keeps the moment before your start; MP4 and MOV players start right on your frame. Exact re-encodes the video so it starts and ends on exactly the frames you chose.
Which browsers does it work in?
A recent Chrome or Edge on a computer or Android phone. Which codecs play depends on the browser; a video it can't play can still be trimmed losslessly by time.
